Personally I don't feel the need to explain this shameless case of perving, however for those of you not as addicted to a good ol' fashion perv I will...
This is a Louis Vuitton Speedy from the second Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton collaboration drop at Selfridges. It is £633... Some may take a sharp intake of breath at that figure, those of you aware of Kusama or Louis collabs will know that it is a bit of a steal. Think of it as a bargain, as technically speaking it is your way of getting your mitts on a piece of art/piece of history/piece of general fashion loveliness that there aren't many of... Plus it is WAY cheaper than the pumpkin minaudiere coated in swarovski crystals that Kusama created for the collection (I believe it is a fair few thousands for that little baby)... I recon it is much cheaper than a piece of Kusama's original work too...
This collection has been hotly anticipated as Yayoi Kusama is one of the past century's most highly revered conceptual artists, who has come out of semi-retirement to work with Marc Jacobs on this, and by splashing her famous polkadot work across one of the most famous monograms in modern history. I knew this was big deal because Yves Carcelle, CEO of LV, allowed Kusama to cover the monogrammed pieces so heavily, previous collaborations havn't seen such blatant covering of the famous logo, it usually peeks through much more. I for one love it all. I also love that she is taking over all 24 windows at Selfridges on Oxford St and filling them with all manner of fabulousness.
