Confession time... I am not usually one for trends, or "following" anything fashion related, however I have a dirty new obsession. A brand new fashion perv if you must... Pink. Yes the girlies, tackiest, fluffiest colour of them all. And not just your average fuchsia, I am talking sugary, candy floss hued, Pepto Bismol/Calpol pink.

But this so ain't pink as you know it... I'm talking mixing textures like leather, PVC, and angora with a dash of gossamer light silk... I'm talking wearing princess coats with lilac stilettoes and yesterday's mascara (and knickers) This look will be a mixture f the subversive, the slutty and downright decadent. I will be mixing shades of sugary pink, teaming full, fifties skirts with transparent blouses and high heels... It will be my way of doing Stepford wife meets Linda Lovelace with a kick of Paris Hilton and Anna Dello Russo for good measure. I like to think of it as Hi meets low brow.

I realise that my winter wardrobe would be resembling a pastel paint factory when I saw Simone Rocha's collection which was inspired by her Grandma... and i realised this was the way forward. I have already acquired a baby pink PVC pencil skirt, blue slut shoes and a mint green oversize cable knit jumper. Next are lilac pointed toe heels, and sheer check knee length kilt, a baby blu jumper and lashings of lemon.

You see my idea of being all Lady Lady always has to have a twist, I am just not a girly girl and although the silhouette will be twee and oh so chic there will have to something "off" about proceedings. Such as lashings of ghetto gold, black n ail polish or a flash of bra through a see through gossamer fine blouse. You see what I'm getting at? A little slut to my Stepford... That is just me! I love to do things in a not quite perfect way, I think it makes a look interesting and all the more exciting. Where i8s the fun in utter perfection and looking pristine and "done"? I like to think there is none, and that is how I will justify my Naughty Granny look that I intend to spend the entire season owning all for myself. The baby pink PVC has already had her debut and the reaction was rather fabulous... For the next trick I will be teaming her with my oversize mint jumper and some silver brogues and cute frilly socks. Mostly because I can and partly because I love freaking out boys and nothing is weirder than a stripper skirt and Granddad jumper and shoes.

I am loving the sheer breadth of what the upcoming season has to offer but grunge (bored of this already) and pared down minimalism are all very well, I feel like channelling a crazed Granny, or an undone lady rather than what else is being offered up. It just feels a bit more original and skew whiff than the usual cookie cutter trends that have been churned out. Plus I am definitely happy unless I am man repelling and impressing my fellow girls. It is more fun that way and the less put together I am the more comfortable feel in my own skin... Mostly cos I will be in a gay bar, dancing to disco and not worrying if the nearest bit of man candy is checking me out, cos I have the wrong equipment!

So think pink, if you've got any sense that is!

The Daily Perv

Yes fashion sex pests! The Daily Perv is back and I promise it will be a much, much more regular fixture to my weird fashion diary that is this blog.

Sooooo step forward the Céline Side Cabas in woven lambskin... This is hella luxury... It may look like a tote fashioned from a laundry bag but ALAS it is delicately woven lmbskin to give that Dot Cotton effect. And it just makes my little heart beat fast. Mostly because I want the coat from the same collection, but then I would just look like a lady wearing an outfit made of laundry bags. But I think I could totally make that work... Or end up sectioned.

Anyway I won't prattle, I will just leave you to lust...

a.p.c x Yeezy

I won't lie I am no Yeezy fan, I find him arrogant, angry and beyond publicity obsessed despite being a musical force to be reckoned with... which is a shame because his twattish tendencies end up outshining the fact that he is practically a musical genius almost as cool as the late great Biggie. Anyway, Kanye bashing aside I AM a massive fn of Jean Touitou and his wonderfully minimally Parisian brand A.P.C... So I will put my hostilities aside to celebrate ANOTHER great collab that Jean has magicked up and that is a capsule clothing collection, 2 years in the making with Monsieur Yeezy. This is further proof of West's perfectionist tendencies, apparently he wanted the fabrics, cuts and designs to be just so. Shame he couldn't manage with his sadly terrible efforts at Ready to Wear, okay okay I will be nice.

I can't ay much more than it is a lovely collection... it is perfectly minimal, chic and I recon would hang on the body in such a way that you just can't put into words why it is just so marvellous. If you are a fan or watcher of the Yeezy you will understand why this just screams him, but it is understated as opposed to brash, label heavy and edgy like he usually appears aesthetically. And for that I simply love it. I wan the t shirt... mostly cos I love a man's tee and because I am a lady and doubt it'll fit me in the way it would a penis packing Yeezy lover.

So aside from the Kanye bashing, and blatant humble pie eating may I take this oppurtunity to heap further praise on the A. P. C founder, as he has successfully created a collaboration that is not only desirable but in keeping with the ethos and identity of his brand. It ain't too pricey either. But please don't buy into this cos of Yeezy, buy into it because it is a feat of clothing beauty and the sheer obsession and attention to detail West has poured into it mean that the fit, silhouettes and quality appear to be just delightful and well worth investing. And they aren't as ugly as the Nikes he designed.

Through My Eyes...

I know I'm a little late to be commenting on the goings on of the Couture shows but  was busy learning to be a Londoner and settling in and what have you, so please forgive my tardiness on posting on the subject. As regulars may know I am a huge fan of what Mr Raf Simons does as Dior, and the Fall 2013 Couture show he presented didn't disappoint in my opinion.

Not only has he been using the opportunity to update the vision and aesthetic of the brand and bring his own style to the forefront of what Dior is currently offering but he also celebrates what Mr Dior was famous for, and celebrates many of the original house signatures. With this collection it was in the more classic silhouettes, the corsetry and gowns that you imagine the likes of modern day starlets Marion Cotillard and Diane Kruger wearing. But my main point is that you could also imagine the stars of yesteryear such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Natalie Wood wearing much of the looks that Simons created.

But you'd be a fool for thinking Simons is a one trick/one shopper pony because that he ain't.. You need to understand that since his appointment last hear and first couture show in February, the haute couture sales at Dior increased by 38% and accounting for the fact tat the average dress can cost over a hundred grand and start off at about thirty or forty that is a massive increase. You see in recent years, thanks to interest from Russian oligarchs daughters, wives and girlfriends couture has become big business again and is selling better than it has in decades. It is still an industry steeped in secrets and private clientele but the young guard are splashing the cad, and the dreary, short hemlines and bold colour ways are only confirming this. And Raf is leader of the pack.
A well as celebrating waspy waistlines, floor lengths fit for a princess ad silks and satins as heavy as a house, the Dior runway also included asymmetry on hemlines and shoulders, thigh high splits, sheer panelling and mid riff cut outs. Raf's use of edgy textures and fabrics are usually more at home with the avant-garde but it more than proved that he understands all kinds of women want a piece of the Atelier pie. Now someone cut me a slice...

I got the doodlebug.....

One of the main reasons that I quit my job, got a new one, and bullied my dad in driving me and all my worldly possessions to London was to get my illustrations somewhere. So in the spirit of sorting my life out I've been hard at work. Hope you like the fruits of my labour so far...

An open love letter to Anna...

Oh Anna,

The oman they call Nuclear Wintour, how I love you. I have been admirer of this woman for many a year and most of the time I really don't know why, other than she is totally inspiring. I an age where us girls/women/ fanny packers are still nowhere near as equal as the men folk in terms of equal pay, work place sexism and running FTSE index companies Anna represents. With bells on. Whilst donning Prada.

She has been at the helm of US Vogue for over 20 years and she runs it like a business, and a well oiled machine. Brands clamour to advertise in the edition she edits, as well as some of the biggest models, photographers, stylists, make up artists and designers working on the shoots to give it the now famous aesthetic she has fought to create.
I love the fact that she IS the Met Gala and if rumours are to be believed the guests have to get their outfit choices pre-approved by her to avoid embarrassment and faux-pas. Oh and did I mention the tickets are beyond expensive and invites don't come easy. I would kill to go, it is a veritable cool-fest with the Olsen twins thrown in, and some of the most unbelievable couture enough to make any fashwan pervert piss their knickers. Heaven.

One of my fave things about Anna is her ability to remain totally aloof in the face of everything. She reportedly wears sunglasses to every show at fashion month because she likes to be able to hide whether she hates the show or not, but you are EXTREMELY lucky if she chooses to attend your show, and even luckier if she publicly comments. She is famously hard to please and known to be able to ruin a career with a negative opinion. And this is why I love her. She reeks of power, oh and Prada. Miuccia garms are rarely off her back, and Mrs Prada loves to whip up a bit of custom for her. Oh to be that scary.

And we all know the 'Devil Wears Prada' rumours...

In the era of women trying to break the glass ceiling, I think Anna is nothing but inspiring, she is proof you can be a woman and at the very top of your game. She ignores the circus that surrounds her and is fabulous without having to be edgy, without trying too hard or I guess caring. She has forged an iconic image that is recognisable to the point of being a brand, and doesn't let trends or opinion change this. That is the main reason why I admire her... she is strong, cooler than a cucumber and represents all that is great about a woman having a career. Plus if you watch her with her daughter Bee in  The September issue you will see she is a total pussycat really...

May Anna reign Queen Vogue forever!

Little Pot o' Gold...

£28 at all swanky salons

as regular readers may know I am NO beauty blogger, not by a long stretch, but I am a girl that likes a to look after my hair and skin and I am not afraid to spend when I have to. My darling Dad gave me a little money for my birthday last week, and because I am moving to London and attempting to downsize my vast amount of belongings I put myself on a ban of buying clothes, plus I needed to replace a few beauty products so the ban suited me... and I have been lusting after this little pot of hair drenching goodness for quite a while now. It is part of the Kérastase Elixir Ultime range, which on original launch was a range of hair oils designed to repair and strengthen different types of hair. Then in true brand fashion Kérastase launched a shampoo, mask and conditioner to be added to the range, now if any of you lady (or man) folk know anything about hair care oils have long been used as a way of repairing and improving texture but have been having a bit of a trendy "moment" of late, I am a fan of a hair mask as used weekly it can vastly help hair in need, and after years of relaxing and general bashing with horrifically hot electrical hair appliances I think my follicles can do with all the help they can get.

So after a weekend of curling wands, vodka, dancing in gay bars and hanging with the smokers in the smoking areas I decided to give my locks a little fancy treat.  So I have to be quite generous with conditioner because I have a lot of hair and its thick too, I left it on  whilst I cleaned my teeth, shaved my pins and soaped up the old body and rinsed off after instructed... I was suitably impressed! I had a funny feeling I would be because I have used a number of different Kérastase products before and all are lovely. The mask was thick, creamy, and tinted a delicious shade of gold... and in true Kérastase fashion smells expensive and leaves your locks feeling like you've just blown your pennies on a blowdry in Chelsea.

On the day my hair felt soft, silky and well nourished, and a day later still does! I would totally recommend this product to anyone with hair in need of some TLC or anyone wanting to generally ensure their hair is in tip top condition, and stays that way. I don't think it would be too great on fine hair or hair that isn't dry or coarse in texture, but I guess its up to the user to judge...

Now I know pots of gold don't exist at the end of rainbows but this is the next best thing!
